Our Matcha Madeleines, are a perfect fusion of classic French pastries and earthy Japanese Matcha. These delicate, buttery cakes offer a light, moist texture and to make it even better they're dipped in chocoloate!
Our Matcha Madeleines, are a perfect fusion of classic French pastries and earthy Japanese Matcha. These delicate, buttery cakes offer a light, moist texture and to make it even better they're dipped in chocolate!
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolk, sugar, matcha and salt until foamy. Gradually sift in the flour and baking powder.
Over low heat melt the butter and honey together or 1-2 mins and add to the mixture stirring constantly.
Chill the mixture for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Grease your madeleines tray and heat the oven to 200°c.
Spoon or pipe the mixture onto the tray, filling half way. Bake for 3 minutes before reducing the temperature to 160°c and bake for a further 4-5 minutes or until slightly golden.
Let cool, remove from the tray dip in melted chocolate and Enjoy!
