Strawberry traybake sliced, topped with pink coloured Nesquik and Icing sugar topping

Ingredients

    Sponge

    Cream Topping

    • 300g Double Cream
    • 2 Tbsp Whitworths Icing Sugar
    • 30g Strawberry Milkshake Powder
    • Pink Gel Food Colouring (optional)
    • Freeze Dried Strawberry Pieces (optional)

    Directions

      Sponge

      1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan and line a 20cm x 30cm baking tin with greaseproof baking paper.
      2. Cream together the caster sugar and baking spread in a bowl until light and fluffy.
      3. Add the eggs, along with a third of the flour and beat together to combine.
      4. Fold in the milk, vanilla extract and remaining flour until fully incorporated.
      5. Add the mixture to the baking tin and bake in the oven for approximately 25 mins.
      6. Leave to cool in the tin for 10 mins then transfer to a wired cooling rack.
      7. Mix together the condensed milk and milkshake powder until smooth.
      8. While the sponge is still warm, poke lots of holes using a fork and spread the condensed milk mixture over the top.

      Cream Topping

      1. Add the cream, icing sugar and milkshake powder to a bowl and whip together until it starts to hold its shape.

      2. If colouring the whipped cream, add the gel food colouring and mix until evenly distributed.

      3. Spread the whipped cream on top of the cooled sponge and sprinkle some freeze-dried strawberries to decorate.

      4. Slice the traybake into 15 portions and enjoy.
